The Community Water Center, which works to ensure all Californians have access to safe and affordable drinking water, is seeking a full-time Senior Policy Advocate located at our Sacramento office. The bilingual (English and Spanish) Senior Policy Advocate is responsible for leading policy advocacy campaigns designed to address root causes of unsafe drinking water by advancing community-driven legislative, regulatory, and policy changes. This position will report to the Policy Director and will work with CWC staff.

- Provide engineering expertise/support on a variety of environmental projects
- Manage environmental projects suited to your expertise
- Expand relationships with our existing clients; identify new pursuits and develop new clients.
- Stay abreast of local and national regulations; educate staff and clients on new regulations.
- Ensure quality client services, and clarity of work products and projects while promoting and integrating companywide initiatives and values.
- Capable of learning and working with BC’s WorkSmart management program.
- Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings.
- Direct and coordinate work with other staff disciplines during design and delivery of projects.
- Supervise, delegate and oversee work of technical staff of scientists and engineers.
- Coach and mentor less experienced staff.
- Travel periodically, for multiple days when needed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- BS and a minimum of 5 years of civil/environmental or hydrogeologic experience; Professional Engineer or Geologist (California) desirable.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the consulting field
- Background in Title 27, soil and groundwater remediation, and industrial stormwater
- Strong background in solid waste services
- Solid connections, an excellent reputation and a track record with clients in Northern California.
- Knowledge of local and/or regional hydrogeology, contaminant fate and transport, environmental rules and regulations.
- Capable of producing high quality products on schedule and within budgets
- Must have a clear driving record and be willing to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
